Silicone Doll Production Process 1 — Head Production

Hello everyone—it’s great to see you all! Last time, we discussed the production process for Climax Doll’s TPE dolls; this time, we’d like to continue our exploration by delving into the manufacturing workflow for silicone dolls, which we plan to cover in two separate parts: the head and the body. How much do you already know about the steps involved in making a silicone sex doll?

Before we dive into the main topic, let’s take a moment to briefly review the key manufacturing differences between TPE and silicone dolls. In truth, the general production steps for both are quite similar, though they do differ in certain critical details. The most fundamental distinction stems from the inherent properties of the two materials themselves: TPE is a thermoplastic material—somewhat like "chocolate"—in that it melts when heated, sets when cooled, and this process is entirely reversible. Silicone, on the other hand, is a thermosetting material—more akin to an "egg"—meaning that once it has cured and set, it cannot be melted down again.

Well then, let’s discover the finer details together as we proceed with our comparison! For those of you who are particularly interested, feel free to do some independent research to learn even more!

First, today we will introduce the complete process of silicone doll head forming. Let's witness its birth step by step.

1. Doll Head 3D Modeling

Based on the customized reference images provided by the customer, we begin with 3D modeling of the sex doll head.

2. Head Manufacturing

After completing the facial detail design, we start crafting a dedicated head mold. The interior of the mold is arranged according to the 3D model, with careful attention to the structure of the mouth, eyes, and other features. Once the mold is confirmed to be correct, the platinum silicone (parts A and B) is mixed in a 1:1 ratio, stirred thoroughly, and placed into specialized equipment to be vacuumed to remove air bubbles. The liquid silicone is then poured into the high-temperature head mold in two separate batches. The mold is left to sit overnight to allow the curing reaction to complete. The next day, the mold is opened, and the excess flash and burrs along the edges are trimmed. After trimming, the head is placed on a stand for cleaning and carefully inspected for any imperfections. Any defective areas are repaired with a second application of silicone. Finally, the mouth's suction function is tested to ensure it works properly.

3. Eye Making

Small eyeballs are pressed out using an eye mold. The iris and pupil patterns are carved outward from the center of each eyeball. The eyes are then gradually colored according to the customer's custom color specifications. After coloring, a layer of adhesive is applied to seal the color and prevent fading. The outer half of the transparent eyeball is then attached. The edges are checked to ensure a complete seal and that no air bubbles are present. Once the quality check is passed, the eyes are further cleaned, and another layer of adhesive is poured over the entire eye surface to keep them crystal clear and glossy.

4. Facial Makeup

A professional makeup artist replicates the customer's custom makeup image one-to-one. Special attention is given to detailing small features such as moles, freckles, lip lines, etc., to make the doll's facial expressions more lifelike and realistic. After ensuring the makeup perfectly matches the reference image, a setting spray is prepared and evenly applied to the face to lock in the makeup, followed by a drying treatment.

5. Eyebrow and Hair Implantation

Both eyebrows and hair are implanted entirely by hand, strand by strand, with meticulous care. During the hair implantation process, the hairline outline is first drawn with a pen, and then different areas are marked out for implanting hair of different lengths. After all hair implantation is complete, the hair is carefully brushed, trimmed, styled, and braided as needed.

Once the final makeup and hair styling are completed, the entire head-making process is finished. From a virtual blueprint on a computer screen to a delicately crafted, lifelike doll head, the journey may seem simple at first glance, but in reality, it is the result of meticulous effort and quality control across multiple departments and skilled craftspeople.

Currently, many brands on the market offer head customization services. As long as the body proportions match the head size, customers are free to choose their preferred head sculpt and makeup to create a personalized combination.
